Hello! My name is Karla and I am a Spanish and English language teacher from Mexico based in Poland.
My first volunteer program in Poland in 2017
I was born and raised in Mexico until my college years, when I caught the travel bug—as American students tend to do.
But I didn’t want to just travel—I wanted to have a meaningful experience. That’s when I took an opportunity to travel to Poland, stay with foster families in small towns, and teach languages and my culture to the youth there.
It was a wonderful experience, one that changed my life completely. I decided to take my chances and emigrate to this beautiful country that had shown me so much warmth and love. It’s been seven years since then.
Currently, I’m working toward my B1 Polish Certificate, planning to go back to college to study Pedagogy in Polish, and aiming to get my ELE certificate (to teach Spanish as a foreign language). My mission is to keep growing as a teacher, and most importantly—keep supporting my students and watching them flourish
I love books, art, video games, nature, and learning. I have a weakness for Mexican food and snacks—anything spicy, really.
My dream life is to live in a hut in the middle of the woods (with internet access, of course!), so I can keep doing what I love for a living, travel constantly to visit my friends and family in Mexico (and all over the world!), and have a fluffy cat named Bebita that purrs in my lap while I cozy up at home.
Feel free to contact me anytime!
